Hello‌ ‌Kitty‌ ‌Café‌ ‌community!‌

If you’re here, chances are you already know who we are and what we do. But on the off chance that you’ve stumbled across us by some kind of happy accident, let us introduce ourselves. We are Kitty Café UK, a cat café and cat rescue with locations in Nottingham, Birmingham and Leeds. Our main focus is on the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of cats in need across the country- and as a bonus you can visit us, eat great food and fuss our feline friends!

In this weekly blog we’ll be covering a range of exciting topics from the latest news from the cafés to new products in our online shop. We’ll even be offering you expert advice on how best to look after your own kitties (trust us- we’ve had plenty of experience!)

This week’s news

If you live in the UK you’re probably aware of our current situation; those of us in the hospitality industry have been unable to open our doors to the public since November. As you may imagine, this has a huge impact on any business, and on top of the typical struggles, we have to continue to look after our cats. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continuous support throughout our closure- whether this be in the form of financial support, donations from our Amazon wishlist, purchases from our online shop or simple words of encouragement. We cannot express our gratitude enough!

Cheese especially liked the Amazon boxes

Not only is being open vital for the financial aspect of our cats’ care, it is also extremely important for the social element! Our cats thrive on being allowed to socialise with our customers, and while our staff have gone above and beyond to take care of them and give them all the attention and Dreamies they could ask for, they really are starting to miss seeing your lovely faces.

Marmalade seems to have taken lockdown particularly hard

A Date for the calendar

However...there is light at the end of the tunnel! This week we were finally given the pawesome news we’ve all been anticipating: we might be able to open our cafés as early as the 17th of May! All three of our locations will be back in business (with all the required social distancing measures) as soon as we’re given the government’s go-ahead- and we’ve already been inundated with advance bookings so you might want to think about booking yourselves in for that long awaited coffee catch-up sooner rather than later!

In the meantime…

If treating yourself is what’s getting you through this lockdown, you could always check out that online shop we mentioned. We stock a huge range of cat-themed items for both you and your furbabies. Whether it’s clothing, home decor, stationery or cat toys you’re after, our site is the ideal place to find a gift for yourself or the crazy cat person in your life. We’re constantly expanding our catalogue so there will be something new every time you visit. Plus, every sale we make helps us cover the costs involved in caring for so many cats, so a gift for you is also a gift for them!
