Happy Easter from Kitty Café!

Updated: Jul 15

Aah... another week, another blog post. Our reopening date on the 17th of May seems lightyears away for the whole Kitty Café family- it can't come soon enough! But while we wait these last few weeks until we can finally open our doors, why not settle down for a cup of tea and a catch up with this eggstra special Easter edition of our blog? This week's been a relatively quiet one in the cafés (the operative word being relatively- there's never a dull moment at Kitty Café!), with the gorgeous Spring weather diverting our attention a little. But fear not, we still have lots of treats in stall for you this week, so keep reading!

How to enjoy another Easter at home

Along with the beautiful sunny weather and Spring blossom has come some lifting of the lockdown restrictions here in the UK. Talk about timing! Now is the time to enjoy outdoor picnics and BBQs with friends and family, and it ties in perfectly with Easter being this weekend. Whatever your Easter traditions are, we're sure they've been somewhat interrupted this year. But that doesn't mean you can't still make the day special. And what better way to save the day than to create some new traditions, Kitty Café style?

Can you spot all of the eggs hidden in this picture?

One of the first traditions that springs to mind when we think of Easter is the egg hunt. The beauty of this is that it can easily be done in your own home or garden, and you hardly need to buy anything to do it- plus it will keep your kids entertained for hours! Hide individually wrapped chocolate or plastic eggs for a more traditional hunt or go rogue and use whatever you fancy! For a Kitty Café twist, use small items such as keyrings and pins from our online shop if you already have them.

A surefire way to keep kids entertained is to get out the arts and crafts box and let their imaginations run wild. And while painting eggs would normally be the go-to activity this time of year, we'd like to offer an easier, slightly less messy alternative just in case you're tired of scrubbing paint off the kitchen table. Download our printable colouring page to and substitute the paints for the pencils to save yourself the stress of cleaning up. You can also download our Easter Kitty Café word search!

Want to make the egg-citement last a bit longer?

Some parents don't like the idea of giving their kids too much chocolate- which can be a problem when it comes to finding alternatives to Easter eggs. Although it's too late to order from our online store in time for Sunday, we still have loads of goodies so you and your family can carry on the celebrations even after they're officially over! Treat your kids to some adorable bunny pyjamas or this cute bunny cushion. We even have a rabbit sleeping bag for your fur-baby so they don't miss out!

In other news, those of you with a keen eye will have caught us out once again mentioning cups of tea. And that's not just because we love a cuppa... we're so excited to finally announce our upcoming collaboration with Protohype: Peekaboo Kitty Cup & Saucer. This project will have your post-lockdown tea party guests purring with delight, especially when they see the surprise inside their cup! Available in 4 designs, these cups are printed with cute slogans and each have a different ceramic cat inside. They are simply adorable! Sign up to be notified of our launch date so you can be one of the first to get your paws on a set. And if you pounce quickly, you'll have access to some pawesome, exclusive early bird offers!

And that's all we have time for today! Come back next week for more news from Kitty Café or advice for looking after your feline companions. If you can't wait till then to get your fix of fluffy cuteness, make sure you're following us on all our social media platforms, where we'll be sure to keep you up to date on our adorable moggies.
