Hello furriends! It’s officially May, which means we reopen our cafés THIS MONTH! It’s been a long 6 months since we last saw any of you and we can’t wait to welcome you all back, and hopefully with a few fresh faces too! If you missed our post about reopening a few weeks ago, we’d recommend checking it out so you’re all up to speed on what you can expect on your next visit. In the meantime, this week we’ll be updating you all on the latest goings on at Kitty Café.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who joined our fun-packed interactive quiz on Saturday to win a pawesome prize of afternoon tea for two and of course to raise money for our beautiful kitties! If you didn’t win or you missed out this time, not to worry because we’ll be hosting plenty more events in the future (hopefully some of them will be in person!) so you’ll have the chance to redeem yourselves. In total we managed to raise an amazing £190, all of which will contribute towards the ongoing care of our cats at all three cafés.
On the subject of thanking our wonderful customers, we’d also like to express our gratitude for all the cat food donations made via our Amazon wishlist or otherwise. The shortage of pet food, most likely caused by a huge climb in the number of people who now own pets since lockdown, has meant that our usual supplier is completely out of stock. And with over 20 hungry kitties to feed in each café, we’ve been forced to scour the market for supplies and ultimately rely on the generosity of our customers for donations. Thanks to the number of donations that have been made, we will now have enough cat food for the time being, which might even tide us over until our suppliers replenish their stock!
If you’re one of those people who can’t resist stopping to see if you can spot any window kitties every time you walk past our Nottingham café (no judgement there- we all do it) , you may have noticed our signage has had a full makeover. It was about time our oldest location was brought up to date with the others and underwent a glow-up, and right before our grand reopening seemed like the purrfect time to make the change. Our Notts café now has a fun, colourful sign that truly matches the Kitty Café branding and our personalities. And it’s not just the outside that’s had some TLC… just you wait until you see the new interior!
Those of you who follow us or our friends over at Protohype on our social media platforms, may have already seen glimpses of our upcoming project: Pet Pawtraits. If not, we ask two simple questions.
